These timeless photographs are just a smattering of the thousands of images I’ve taken, and they’re some of my favorites. Spending time under the night sky has been a passion of mine since I was a child, where I’d lay in our driveway in Juneau, Alaska & watch the stars for hours. My heart felt fulfilled after time under the night sky.
My first camera, a Kodak 110 Instamatic, was gifted to me by my parents on my 10th birthday, and it fostered a love for capturing the world around me. I’m excited to be instilling a love for photography in my children, Cash & Audrey, and forever grateful for my supportive husband, Lake. His encouragement to delve further into the exciting world of photography in Alaska and beyond has brought my art to you today.
My camera travels everywhere with me, even when I’m carrying an extra 40 pounds of gear, it’s worth it. I’ve been able to capture fantastic images with my Canon 5D Mark III and Mark IV with a wide variety of lenses. The saying, “The best camera you have is the one you have on you” certainly holds true in my world!
The Northern Lights never cease to amaze. It’s my goal to seek out the purples that our naked eye doesn’t see well, but the camera picks up like a charm. As the 11-year solar cycle ramps up again, I trust the sun will continue to “spit” plasma at our planet in the form of CMEs (coronal mass ejections) that light up our night sky, and I will be out performing contortionist “aurora yoga” at -30°F to catch it for your viewing pleasure!
I’m grateful for the opportunity to showcase select pieces that would be lovely additions to your walls at home! These prints are available in smaller & larger sizes from 4"x6" to 42"x54", so let me fill your home with Alaskan beauty!
Thank you!!
